What are Allow vs Ask permission modes?
TL;DR: Allow and Ask control how autonomously Ask Ballet acts in the Console. Allow lets the AI make changes and run actions without asking each time. Ask requires your approval before each action. Toggle the mode in the Console input area. Members do not see this toggle.
Who this is for
Builders using the Console on Home or inside a playbook.
What does Allow mode do?
In Allow mode, Ask Ballet can:
- Edit steps and create new ones
- Run playbooks
- Call tools and connectors
…without stopping for approval on each action. Use Allow when you trust the AI to iterate quickly — for example, during initial building or debugging.
What does Ask mode do?
In Ask mode, Ask Ballet proposes actions and waits for you to approve or reject each one. Use Ask when:
- Working on production playbooks
- Making changes you want to review carefully
- Learning how Ask Ballet works
How do I switch modes?
Look for the Allow / Ask toggle in the Console input area (near the send button). Click to switch. The current mode is shown as "Allow" or "Ask."
Can Members change this?
No. The Allow/Ask toggle is hidden for Members. Members use the Console for help and guidance, not for authoring.
