Recipe: Score, route, and follow up on leads

TL;DR: When a lead is created or enriched, this playbook scores it against your ICP, assigns an owner by territory or round-robin, creates a follow-up task, and notifies the rep in Slack. Trigger is a webhook; outputs are an assigned CRM record, a task, and a Slack ping.

Who this is for

RevOps and sales teams that need fast, consistent lead assignment and follow-up.

What you'll need

  • Connectors: HubSpot or Salesforce, Slack.
  • Secrets: CRM API key, Slack token.
  • Trigger: Webhook on new/enriched lead.

How to build it with Ask Ballet

  1. Open the Console on Home.
  2. Paste the prompt below; set your scoring rules and owner mapping.
  3. Review the plan and confirm.
  4. Connect the CRM and Slack, then register the webhook.
Build a playbook that triggers when a lead is enriched in Salesforce. Score the lead
0-100 based on company size, industry fit, and title seniority. If the score is 60 or
higher, assign an owner by territory (US-East, US-West, EMEA) using round-robin within
each region, create a follow-up task due in 24 hours, and DM the owner in Slack with
the lead summary and score. If below 60, add it to a nurture campaign.

What the playbook does

  1. Webhook trigger — receives the lead.
  2. Code step (score) — computes a fit score from CRM fields.
  3. Code step (assign) — picks an owner by territory and round-robin.
  4. HTTP step (update + task) — sets the owner and creates a follow-up task in the CRM.
  5. HTTP step (notify) — DMs or posts the assignment in Slack.

Variations and tips

  • Keep round-robin state in a Code step or external store so assignment stays balanced.
  • Run Lead enrichment first so scoring has complete data.
  • Add an "Ask" step for manual approval on enterprise-tier leads.
